Weber has so much faith in the new ignition system that they cover it, and every other part of the Spirit II grills, with a ten year warranty.Ī not so obvious advantage of the Spirit II grill is the placement of the propane tank on the right side of the grill. While a lot of the GS4 system is just marketing hype one real advantage is that the ignition system has been upgraded for durability.

The Spirit II Series grills come with Weber’s GS4 Advanced grilling system. Weber’s problem with the Spirit II grills is that they are too similar to the higher priced Genesis grills and sales of the Genesis series have suffered. The Spirit II line of grills came out a few years ago and, based on current pricing, I believe they will soon be discontinued. If I was shopping for a two burner Weber grill then the Spirit II E 210 is what I would buy. In my opinion the Spirit II E 210 is a better grill than the E215 and it currently costs less than the E 215. The stainless steel parts will outlast the porcelain enameled parts by about two years. The one difference that makes any difference at all between these grills is that the Flavorizer bars on the E215 are stainless steel while the ones on the E210 are porcelain enameled steel. Tool Holders: The tool holders are mounted on the outside of the side tables on the E210 and on the front of the side table for the E215.Burner Knobs: The E210 has red Weber logos on the knobs while the E215 has silver Weber logos on the knobs.
Some of the more obvious differences are: Something happened when I was making the graphic below that makes the E215 look more grey and washed out. The E 215 is a model developed exclusively for sale at Home Depot so Weber made cosmetic changes to make it “different” than the E 210.īy the way…both of these grills have the same “black” color. The differences between the Spirit E 210 and Spirit E 215 are almost entirely cosmetic. If you buy one of those other grills then you will be frustrated while you use it and will toss it in the trash after two years. The Spirit grills have excellent performance (high heat, even heating, minimal flare ups), are extremely reliable and will last about a decade. I have written an entire article on this topic ( Are Weber Grills Worth the Money?) but the quick answer this Weber grill is a good deal. These other grills typically cost around half as much as a Weber and can tempt you into making a “budget based” bad decision. If you are standing at Home Depot looking at this grill then they probably have it parked beside a Dyna-Glo, Nexgrill or Kitchen Aid grill. The E215 helps in that department by allowing you to fold both side tables down if desired. Many people who are shopping for a two burner grill are doing so because they want a grill with a small footprint.
